Post Surgical Rehabilitation

Post surgical rehabilitation refers to the guided exercise programs and joint treatments following an orthopaedic surgical procedure. After orthopaedic surgery there are specific time frames for healing and regaining range of movement and strength. Physiotherapists will provide treatment to help regain mobility of stiff joints and guide you with exercises which will be progressed as you recover and improve. The aim of post surgical rehabilitation is to help you return to your pre injury level of activities and sport safely.

Cherrybrook Physiotherapy has an association with some of Sydney’s leading orthopaedic surgeons. We regularly rehabilitate patients who have undergone joint replacements, tendon repairs, ligament reconstructions and bone surgery. Following each surgeon’s broad protocols, we develop exercise programs to ensure strength, range of movement and function are regained as early and as effectively as possible.

Each program is individually based and progressed accordingly, from the acute stages of post-operative recovery through to complete return to sport or activity.
